Terms - Artist License

Plain-English terms for artists. By claiming a tile you agree to them.

1. What TuneCube is

TuneCube is a 10,000-tile grid showcasing independent artists, at tunecube.co.uk.

2. What you grant us when you claim a tile

You keep 100% ownership of your music, image and name. When you claim a free or paid tile, you give TuneCube a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

• Display your tile image, artist name and links on the grid at tunecube.co.uk
• Play a 30-second preview of your track in Play The Grid (if you add a track link)
• Create and share promotional images featuring your tile (e.g. "I'm #46 on The 10,000")
• Feature your tile in TuneCube social posts, the "recent joins" section and other marketing
• It's not exclusive — you can be on Spotify and anywhere else too

3. What you promise

• You own the image and music you upload, or have permission to use them
• The image is of you or your logo, not someone else
• The music is yours
• You are 16 or over (or have a parent's permission)

4. Removal

You can ask us to remove your tile anytime: email contact@tunecube.co.uk and we'll remove it within 7 days. Paid Gold tiles are removed from Gold at the end of the paid period if not renewed.

5. What we don't do

• We don't own your music
• We don't distribute your music to Spotify or other services for you
• We don't guarantee A&R views, plays or deals — Gold Centre is a high-visibility area, not a guarantee

6. Free vs Gold

• Free tiles are free forever unless you break these rules. Accounts are renewed once a year (free, one click); if you don't renew within 14 days of our reminder, your free tile is removed.
• Accounts with no uploaded track after 14 days may be removed and their tile released.
• Gold Centre (£49 per tile per month) is premium placement in the central 10×10 square. It's a subscription you can cancel anytime. If it isn't renewed, you go back to one free tile — still live, without the Gold placement.

7. Sponsored tiles

The outer edge of the grid may contain sponsored tiles, clearly marked AD.

8. Paid billing

• New paid plans are 4 tiles in a 2×2 Big block for £5 per month, or 16 tiles in a 4×4 DOMINANT block for £18 per month. Existing founder plans retain their agreed pricing.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your billing panel — you keep your block until the end of the current paid period, then return to one free tile.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• If a payment fails, Stripe retries before we act. Tiles enter a grace period and are released if payment isn't recovered.
• Released tiles become available for other artists to buy.

9. Content rules

• You retain ownership of everything you upload — photos, audio, links and text.
• You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content — including your music, photos, artist name and bio — to operate and promote TuneCube. This covers the grid, TuneCube Radio, our Spotify playlist, social media (e.g. Instagram), and platform advertising. We credit your artist name where practical.
• You confirm you have the rights to let us use your content, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
• Only upload content you own or have permission to use. It must not be unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or offensive.
• All uploads are subject to automated and human moderation. We may block, hide, or remove content that breaches these terms.

10. Acceptable use

• No scraping, automated purchasing, or exploiting tile allocation.
• No interfering with the service, other users, or the Daily Superstar.
• No impersonation of other artists, agents, or labels.

11. Liability, changes & contact

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your statutory consumer rights. We may update these terms from time to time and will note the date above.
